CBE drives youth innovation to market
DAR ES SALAAM: THE College of Business Education (CBE) is equipping youth with the skills, knowledge and support needed to turn their business and technology ideas into viable ventures.
Since 2022, the college’s business incubation programme has guided hundreds of students through pre-incubation, incubation and post-incubation stages, helping them gain practical experience and connect with market opportunities.
CBE Rector Prof Edda Lwoga said on Tuesday about the college’s achievements that the programme enabled 773 youth to register their innovations in business and technology applications at the college between 2022 and 2025.
“CBE continues to confirm its commitment to providing quality education, promoting productive research and strengthening its contribution to the development of the economy and business in the country,” she said.
The business incubation programme enables youth to gain business skills and produce productive projects for the nation while aiming at provide a better environment to promote innovation, build practical skills in youth and connect them with market opportunities, capital and professional advice.

She said out of total registered innovations, 278 youth are in the preparation stage or pre incubation, 75 are in the incubation stage and 420 youth are in the post-incubation stage. She said the programme aims to provide a better environment to promote innovation, build practical skills in youth and connect them with market opportunities, capital and professional advice.
Meanwhile, CBE has continued to provide free entrepreneurship and business training where a total of 4,500 entrepreneurs and traders within five years (2020-2025) had been provided with such training.
She said that in the current fiscal year, 1,240 entrepreneurs and traders have already benefited from the training at the Mwanza and Mbeya campuses. This month, the programme will be rolled out at the Dar es Salaam and Dodoma, reaching approximately 1,500 additional participants.
Additionally, the college has initiated an apprenticeship programme that aims to use digital technologies to bring solutions to the challenges.
“This programme will be run in collaboration with CBE and the eGA,” she said.
