ARUSHA: THE Attorney General (AG), Mr Hamza Johari, has said that his office has developed a strategy to enhance the capacity of state attorneys, enabling them to better advise the government in the interests of the nation, national security, and sustainable development across various sectors.
Mr Johari made this statement while addressing approximately 300 state attorneys who are participating in a five-day training organised by his office in Arusha.
He said that the training is crucial for building the capacity of state attorneys so that the advice they provide helps the government make informed decisions.
“The main objective of this training is to promote legal excellence for sustainable development. We want the quality of legal services to be strong, as it plays a significant role in driving development across our nation. That’s why we are focusing on enhancing their capabilities. The legal sector has a vital contribution to the nation’s development in industries such as trade, agriculture, transportation, energy and many others,” said Mr Johari.

He continued, “Nothing can progress without specific laws or commercial agreements in place. For sectors such as agriculture, transportation, trade, energy and mining to thrive, there must be clearly defined laws and regulations governing them.”
He stressed that quality legal services require state attorneys to perform their duties efficiently and on time, including arriving at relevant locations promptly and delivering services with the required quality
