TANZANIA,Shinyanga : Barrick Bulyanhulu Gold Mine registered 40 entrepreneurs into the company’s bidding system to enable them to sell their products within the mining area.
Those registered entrepreneurs from the villages around the mining areas will be able to display and sell their products to workers and be able to generate more incomes.
The system has also helped entrepreneurs to acquire various training sessions to enable them to make improvements in their businesses and so far, at least 500 entrepreneurs have been reached.
Furthermore, the company together with Msalala District Council has succeeded to connect SMEs representatives from at least 11 entrepreneurial groups consisting of farmers and breeders to various stakeholders so that they can parade their products and be able to sell them which will extend their market share.
“We have seen it as an opportunity for breeders and farmers to learn more about networking and how the business is done here, that’s why we have decided to bring these entrepreneurs here today,” said Ms Mary Lupamba, Bulyanhulu Mining Communication Specialist, during the Farmer’s Exhibition Day held in Nyakabindi open ground, Bariadi District in Simiyu Region.
Additionally, “These representatives have been able to learn various business ideas including standard breeding, modern farms available in Simiyu which we believe they will become good ambassadors,”
On his part, Mr Hussein Malima who represented other entrepreneurs, said the exhibition will enable them to extend their businesses by widening their customer range and also learning more about the marketing strategies which will enable them to get more profit.
“This exhibition has helped me to meet new customers for my business products and my colleagues have also been able to sell their products and get new orders,” said Mr Malima.
