BAFCON kick off in October, CAF confirms
CAIRO, EGYPT: THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BAFCON) Egypt 2024, with the tournament slated to run from October 19 to 26, 2024, in the picturesque coastal city of Hurghada, Egypt.
Tanzania, alongside seven other teams, will vie for glory in the sixth edition of the tournament.
The teams include hosts Egypt, as well as Morocco, Ghana, Mauritania, Mozambique, Malawi and Senegal, all of whom secured their places through rigorous qualifiers.
The tournament will feature two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The ultimate goal for all participants will be to clinch the prestigious championship title.

Hurghada, known for its breath-taking beaches and vibrant tourism scene along the Red Sea, will provide a stunning backdrop for the competition.
This will be the second time Egypt has hosted the Beach Soccer AFCON, following the successful 2018 edition in Sharm El Sheikh.
Defending champions Senegal will be a key focus, aiming for their fifth title after winning the last four editions in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2022.
