DAR ES SALAAM: THE Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) has reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality by increasing women’s participation in leadership and decision-making roles.
Through its flagship initiative, the Female Future Programme (FFP), ATE aims to strengthen women’s representation in management and support their progression into leadership positions in both private and public sectors.
Since its launch a decade ago, the programme has empowered approximately 462 women, equipping them with the skills and confidence to excel in leadership.
ATE’s CEO, Suzanne Ndomba-Doran, emphasised the importance of preparing women for top management roles as the programme marks its 10th anniversary.
Since 2016, the programme has seen notable achievements, including the training of 150 female members of Parliament from both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, in collaboration with ESAMI.
She said the FFP focuses on improving workplace gender equality by enhancing women’s decision-making representation and supporting their rise to leadership positions. She noted that it consists of three key modules: leadership, rhetoric and board competence, completed over nine months with structured training.
