ADEM claims success in training education leaders on management, school administration

BAGAMOYO: THE Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, through the Agency for the Development of Educational Leadership (ADEM), has announced that it will continue providing continuous training to education leaders at various levels, along with other stakeholders, to strengthen leadership, management, and school administration in order to improve the quality of education in the country.

This was stated by the Director of Basic Education, Abdul Maulid, who represented the Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Wanu Hafidh Ameir, during the closing ceremony of a training program on leadership, management, and good governance for Ward Education Officers from mainland Tanzania. The training was held at ADEM in Bagamoyo District, Coast Region.

Abdul Maulid explained that the training aimed to build the capacity of education leaders and institutional managers to effectively oversee resources and education delivery processes, while adhering to principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability.

He added that the government expects ADEM to continue offering impactful and sustainable training programs, alongside conducting educational research and providing professional advisory services on leadership matters.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of ADEM, Dr. Maulid J. Maulid, stated that the training is part of the government’s broader agenda to strengthen education management systems by promoting good governance, accountability, and efficiency in service delivery.

He noted that the initiative began with capacity-building training for primary school head teachers on leadership, management, and good governance, which involved 17,817 head teachers from all 26 regions of Tanzania  Mainland.
