NEW DELHI: Tanzania’s renowned businessman, Mr Nyambari Nyangwine has held talks with the Indian Minister for Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi, and seized the opportunity to promote local products and the country’s amazing tourist attractions.
Mr Nyangwine, a writer and book publisher presented the Indian Minister with a gift of various products from Tanzania, including coffee, cashew nuts and brochures showing beautiful holiday and safari sites.
“Besides our fruitful talks, I was able to present a parcel of gifts to the Indian Minister, with local products and some brochures showing the beauty of our country and its magnificent tourist sites wrapped in,’’ said Mr Nyangwine, who once served as a Member of Parliament for Tarime constituency on a CCM ticket.
The tourism minister thanked Mr Nyangwine for the gift and promised to attend the launch of his Nyambari Nyangwine Foundation, scheduled for September this year in Dar es Salaam.
During his week-long private visit to India, Mr Nyangwine also held meetings with owners of big companies, on the prospects of cooperation in investment.
“We discussed and agreed on possible cooperation in such areas as health, education, agriculture, minerals, science and information technology,” Mr Nyangwine said.
Since 2017 to date, Mr Nyangwine has invested a total of USD 48 million in the printing industry with Indian companies.
Of particular significance, he commended the acceptance of Indian traders to cooperate with Tanzanians, saying this will boost President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to promote the country’s investment plans.
During his tight schedule in India, he paid a visit to Zee TV, a famous TV station and thereafter concluded that the outcome was quite fruitful.
“I’ve held a meeting with Zee TV management and it was quite rewarding on both sides,’’ the Tanzanian businessman said.
Mr Nyangwine and his entourage also visited printing and cashew nut processing industries in the cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat and Kolkata.
