Tanzania joins global campaign on clean energy use

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS: CLEAN cooking energy has heralded the international conference on sustainable energy that began in Barbados’ capital, Bridgetown, today.
Tanzanian envoy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, is already in Barbados to participate in the global conference on sustainable energy.
The conference is scheduled to climax on March 14th this year.

Upon his arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport, Dr. Biteko was received by Barbados’s Minister of Energy, Lisa Cummins, along with Tanzania’s Ambassador to Cuba and representative for the Caribbean region, Humphrey Polepole.
During the conference, Dr. Biteko will be involved in various discussions on global sustainable energy use, including clean cooking energy, a key agenda aimed at helping citizens transition from using unsafe energy sources.

Dr. Biteko is accompanied by the Presidential Advisor on Women’s Affairs, Angellah Kairuki, Zanzibar’s Minister of Water, Energy, and Minerals, Shaib Hassan Kaduara, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Felichesmi Mramba.
