Seven people indicted for stealing vehicles destined for Vingunguti Inland Container Depot

DAR ES SALAAM: SEVEN people have appeared before the Temeke Resident Magistrate’s Court and been charged with stealing two vehicles that had been released from the Port of Dar es Salaam for transportation to the Vingunguti Inland Container Depot (ICD), but were instead taken to Kigamboni.
The suspects were arrested on August 12, 2026, while in possession of two Nissan Caravan vehicles allegedly belonging to Sudais Logistic Company Limited in the Kigamboni area.
Their arrest followed a special operation aimed at curbing the theft of vehicles and equipment released from the Port of Dar es Salaam for transportation to inland container depots.
The suspects, who appeared in court today, August 19, 2026, are Isack Gerald Natus, Samson Mwamoto, Daniel Noah, Adam Sufian, Michael Wambura Marwa, Fadhil Arumia Munisi and Tusho Kalambire.

Appearing before Temeke Resident Magistrate in Charge Victoria Mwaikambo, the accused were read the charges against them, which they denied.
State Attorney Nicas Kihemba told the court that the accused allegedly committed the offence by stealing the two vehicles after they had been released from the Port of Dar es Salaam for transportation to the Vingunguti ICD.
The court scheduled the case for mention on August 26, 2026, while bail remained open to all the accused.
