President Samia’s message to Kariakoo building disaster victims

TANZANIA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has conveyed her wishes for a quick recovery to the victims of the collapsed Kariakoo building in Dar es Salaam.

She also urged citizens to remain calm as authorities work tirelessly to rescue individuals trapped in the rubble.

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa relayed the President’s message on Saturday afternoon during his visit to the scene to observe the ongoing rescue operations.

“The President sends heartfelt regards to all the victims of this tragic incident. Our deepest sympathies go to the victims, their families, and the Kariakoo business community at large,” he said.

The Prime Minister urged the public to stay calm and allow the rescue and security teams to continue their operations.

He also expressed gratitude to the rescue teams for their significant efforts so far.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister assured the public that the rescue operations would proceed effectively and efficiently.

Following the accident, President Samia took to social media to direct authorities to collaborate with Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) to ensure survivors of the collapsed building receive the necessary medical attention for a swift recovery.

“We pray to Almighty God for the swift recovery of the injured,” the President wrote.

The Head of State has since departed for Rio de Janeiro to attend the G20 Heads of State Meeting scheduled for November 18–19.
