Mpanda hospital gets 900m/- for the major facelift

THE government has disbursed more that 900m/- for the major facelift of Mpanda Municipal Hospital in Katavi Region in a view to improve provision and access to health services.
The health facility Secretary, Dr Paul Mganga said that yesterday when presented the report of the project and its progress to Katavi Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) Mr Hassan Rugwa who toured the facility.
Dr Mganga explained that December 22 Mpanda Municipal Council (MMC) received 900 m/- from the central government for the rehabilitation of the facility adding that the project scheduled for completion June 30, this year.
He further explained that the rehabilitation works started February this year on seven buildings and walking paths.
“Apart from the fund given by the central government for rehabilitation of the facility the municipal council is constructing three new buildings including radiation and surgery structures” he further noted
RAS, Mr Rugwa congratulated MMC for the good project management saying also the value for money allocated has been reflected on the quality of the project.
On the other hand RAS urged councilors and civil servants in Mpanda Municipality to be collaborative in addressing citizens’ grievances and improving their social and economic welfare.
He further emphasized that municipal administration must address challenges afflicting people and find solutions on time. “It is our responsibility to serve them earnestly,” added RAS.
