PM warns against misappropriation of funds as Tanzania implements CAG recommendations

DODOMA: PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has said the government is continuing to implement all recommendations made by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG), warning that strict action will be taken against individuals found guilty of misappropriating public funds.

Dr Nchemba made the remarks today, November 6, 2026, while delivering a speech to adjourn the Fifth Meeting of the 13th Parliament in Dodoma.

He reminded accounting officers and all government officials to comply with laws, regulations and procedures governing the use of public funds, in line with approved plans and budgets, to avoid audit queries and financial losses.

The Prime Minister said the government would also act on all recommendations made by Parliament through its resolutions and matters raised during parliamentary proceedings, as well as address findings contained in audit reports.

He commended MPs for their contributions, saying their passionate deliberations demonstrated their concern for the protection and proper management of the country’s national resources.
