Construction of 19bn/-MSD warehouse in Chato enters final stages with 80 percent completion

GEITA: CONSTRUCTION of a new Medical Stores Department (MSD) warehouse in Chato District, Geita Region, has reached 80 percent completion, with the 19bn/- project now entering its final stages.

The project is expected to be officially completed in October 2026, following the commencement of construction in August 2025 after MSD handed over the project site to the contractor, Hainan International.

The modern warehouse covers an area of 4,800 square metres and is part of MSD’s strategy to strengthen its capacity to store and distribute health commodities across the Lake Zone regions.

According to project implementation updates, MSD has continued to closely monitor the construction works to ensure that the project progresses as planned, while maintaining the required quality and construction standards.

Once completed, the warehouse is expected to strengthen MSD’s capacity to store and distribute medicines, medical supplies and other health commodities to regions across the Lake Zone.
