Tanzania reaps gains from Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong after engagement with global investors

HONG KONG:TANZANIA has used the Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong to showcase strategic investment opportunities and strengthen engagement with international investors and potential business partners.

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), in collaboration with Opulence Business Solutions, coordinated the participation of a Tanzanian delegation at the summit, held in Hong Kong from September 9 to 10, 2026.

The delegation also took part in pre-arranged Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings held alongside the summit, providing an opportunity for Tanzanian institutions to present strategic investment projects, engage directly with prospective investors and explore potential partnerships.

The delegation comprised representatives from TISEZA, the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), the Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA), the Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA) and the National Environment Management Council (NEMC).

Through the engagements, Tanzania showcased its investment potential and strategic projects while strengthening institutional links with international investors and business partners.

The participation forms part of Tanzania’s broader efforts to position the country as a competitive investment destination and translate international business engagements into tangible partnerships and investment opportunities.

The B2B engagements also provided an avenue for participating Tanzanian institutions to establish direct contacts with potential investors, laying the groundwork for further discussions on projects and areas of mutual interest.
