Modern agri-business technologies, financing solutions herald the 2026 Nane Nane Exhibitions

DODOMA: OVER 1,200 exhibitors are showcasing modern farming technologies, investment opportunities and affordable financing solutions at this year’s Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition, as the government steps up efforts to modernise Tanzania’s agriculture sector.

Speaking after touring exhibition pavilions at the Dr John Malecela Grounds in Nzuguni, Dodoma,  the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Agriculture, Gerald Mwelu Stated that the exhibition has become an important platform linking farmers with new technologies, professional services, markets, investors and financial institutions.

During his tour, the PS highlighted four key areas visitors can learn from during the annual event including naming the first one as, the demonstration that Dodoma can successfully produce a wide range of crops, including cotton, cashew nuts, tobacco and fruits such as apples, through the use of modern farming technologies and improved production systems.

Secondly, he said, the exhibition features more than 200 exhibitors displaying agricultural technologies and innovations aimed at increasing productivity.

“This year, the government will distribute 100 cashew processing machines through the Cashew Board of Tanzania to farmer groups. Each machine has the capacity to process more than 80 tonnes of cashew nuts per day,” he said.

He further mentioned the third attraction as the opportunity for farmers to engage directly with agricultural experts, institutions and service providers offering solutions across the agricultural value chain.

Mr Mweli said the exhibition also provides access to affordable financing, with more than 40 financial institutions participating to educate farmers and entrepreneurs on available credit facilities for expanding agricultural businesses.

This year’s Nane Nane exhibition has attracted 1,188 local exhibitors and 24 international exhibitors, as well as foreign delegates, including South Sudan’s Minister for Agriculture and Food Security.
