Tanzania, Mozambique cement their strategic partnership heading to the 50th DITF opening

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has today, July 3, 2026, held bilateral talks with the President of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo aimed at strengthening the long-standing strategic partnership between Tanzania and Mozambique.

The two leaders met at the State House in Dar es Salaam ahead of the official opening of the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, where they are expected to officiate at the event promoting trade, investment, industrial development and innovation.

President Chapo is also scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to Maria Nyerere and lay the foundation stone for the construction of Mozambique’s new embassy in Dar es Salaam.

The Mozambican leader is in Tanzania on a three-day working visit from July 2 to 4, 2026, during which the two countries are expected to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment and regional development.
