Paris braces for “siku wa Mswahili” to showcase Tanzanian culture

PARIS: TANZANIAN fashion and culture are set to take a central stage in France as preparations intensify for the “Usiku wa Mswahili” event, where designers will showcase Swahili-inspired creativity at the Second International Kiswahili Conference.
Swahili Fashion Week founder and renowned Tanzanian designer, Mustafa Hassanali, said everything is in place for the Paris showcase, which aims to promote Tanzania’s cultural identity through fashion, language and creative arts on a global platform.
Speaking ahead of the event, Hassanali said the Swahili Fashion team is fully prepared to present designs that celebrate Kiswahili heritage and Tanzania’s cultural richness to an international audience.

“Swahili Fashion is in Paris. We are ready, we are not here to joke; we are here to show our creativity to the world,” he said.
The Swahili fashion exhibition is among the key highlights of the “Usiku wa Mswahili” event, which seeks to position Tanzania as a cultural hub through fashion innovation, Kiswahili promotion and creative expression on the global stage.
