Monduli sees success in its RC’s one year of leadership

MONDULI: THE phrase “Women Can” continues to find practical meaning in Tanzania’s leadership landscape, as women increasingly demonstrate their ability to drive development and bring positive transformation to society.

Under the leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has consistently championed women’s participation in decision-making positions, female leaders have continued to prove that effective leadership is defined by competence, vision, and accountability rather than gender.

Monduli District is among the areas witnessing the impact of this philosophy through the leadership of District Commissioner Gloriana Kimath, who today, June 23, 2026, marks one year since officially assuming her duties in the district.

During this period, DC Kimath has built a reputation as a responsive, hardworking, and people-centered leader, closely overseeing the implementation of development initiatives across various sectors.

Monduli, whose residents largely depend on livestock keeping and agriculture, has continued to benefit from the District Commissioner’s efforts to engage directly with citizens, listen to their concerns, and work alongside them in finding solutions to challenges affecting their daily lives.

Among the key priorities during her first year in office has been conflict resolution.

Through regular visits to wards and villages, as well as public meetings, a number of disputes have been successfully resolved through dialogue and reconciliation, contributing to peace, unity, and social stability within communities.

In the education sector, DC Kimath has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving learning and teaching environments. Her visits to schools have focused on monitoring academic performance, encouraging student attendance, and promoting effective management of education projects being implemented across the district.

These efforts have continued to motivate teachers, students, and parents to actively participate in the advancement of the education sector.

The health sector has also benefited from her leadership. The District Commissioner has regularly visited dispensaries, health centres, and hospitals to monitor service delivery and ensure that citizens receive quality healthcare services in a timely manner.

Furthermore, in support of the government’s strategy to promote tourism, Ms. Kimath has continued to encourage the utilization of opportunities available through Monduli’s tourism attractions.

Through visits to key tourism sites, including the Randilen Wildlife Management Area and Manyara Ranch Conservancy, she has actively promoted these attractions while encouraging the growth of tourism as an important source of income and employment for local communities.

Unlike many leaders who prefer to operate primarily from their offices, Ms Kimath has earned recognition for maintaining close contact with the people. She has frequently been seen in villages listening directly to citizens’ concerns and participating in community development activities.

Her accessibility has strengthened relations between the government and citizens, with many residents expressing satisfaction with the way she carries out her responsibilities.

Today, as she marks one year since officially taking office in Monduli, many observers believe her tenure has left a visible mark on various sectors of development within the district.

For many residents, DC Gloriana Kimath’s first year in Monduli has been characterized by practical leadership, responsiveness, and tangible results. It is a period that has demonstrated that when given the opportunity, women can lead effectively, unite communities, and drive sustainable development forward.
