Tanzania pushes digital reform as public service week opens in Dodoma

DODOMA: PUBLIC Service Week has opened in Dodoma with a renewed push for accountability, digital systems, and better delivery of government services.
The week long event, launched at Chinangali Park by Minister of State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance Ridhwani Jakaya Kikwete, brings together more than 200 public institutions showcasing services, reforms, and innovations.
Kikwete said the initiative is designed to strengthen direct engagement between citizens and public institutions while pushing accountability as a core measure of service delivery. He said the government continues to expand the use of digital platforms to improve efficiency and transparency across the public sector.
Among the systems highlighted are e Utendaji, e Watumishi, e Mrejesho, e Ardhi, e Office, GePG, MUVU, MAJIIS, and TAUSI, which he said are reshaping how services are delivered nationwide.

The event, held under the theme “Promoting Inclusive Accountability for Sustainable Service Delivery,” also provides a space for government agencies to present reforms and exchange ideas on improving performance.
The National Environment Management Council, NEMC, said it is using the platform to increase public awareness on environmental protection while promoting digital tools that simplify access to services.
Speaking on behalf of the Director General, NEMC Central Zone Manager Novatus Mushi said the council is also highlighting systems such as the Mazingira App and e Mrejesho to improve citizen engagement.
The exhibition continues in Dodoma, where members of the public are receiving services and information directly from participating institutions.
