Finance Minister chairs preparatory meeting as Tanzania readies for AfDB Annual Meeting

BRAZZAVILLE: THE Minister for Finance, Khamis Mussa Omar, has chaired a preparatory meeting to review Tanzania’s participation in the 61st Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Board of Governors and the 52nd Annual Meeting of the African Development Fund (ADF), set for May 26–29, 2026 in Kintele, Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo.

The meeting discussed strategies to safeguard and advance Tanzania’s interests during the high-level gatherings, which are expected to attract more than 3,000 participants from across Africa and the world.

Additionally, various senior government officials attended the meeting including Permanent Secretary and Paymaster General Natu El-Maamry Mwamba, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary and Commissioner for External Finance Rished Bade, Director General of TIB Development Bank Deogratius Kwiyuka, Assistant Commissioner for External Finance Robert Mtengule, as well as officials from the National Planning Commission, Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank and the Ministry of Finance.

The meetings are expected to bring together African heads of state, finance ministers, central bank governors, development partners, private sector leaders, civil society organisations, researchers and NGOs.
