Minister Gwajima debunks viral myth on men losing genitals after shoulder contact

DAR ES SALAAM: MINISTER for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, has strongly condemned a viral rumor claiming that men lose their genitals when touched on the shoulder, describing the reports as outright lies and misinformation.

Dr Gwajima made the remarks during commemorations of the International Day for Street Children held in Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam. The event focused on promoting the protection, care, and welfare of children living and working on the streets.

At the event, the minister challenged men to practically disprove the myth by linking shoulders in a public demonstration led by Ubungo District Commissioner Albert Msando. Following the exercise, it was clearly confirmed that the claims were false, as no participant experienced any such loss.

She urged citizens to disregard such misinformation and instead focus on development activities. Dr Gwajima emphasized the need for communities to build proper awareness to distinguish between factual information and misleading claims.

She further directed ministry officials to intensify public education campaigns to eliminate misconceptions that could mislead the public and undermine national development agendas.
