State opens window to change combinations, courses

DODOMA: The government has opened a window for 2025 Form Four graduates to change their choices of Form Five subject combinations and courses for middle-level and technical colleges through the online Student Selection System.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Professor Riziki Shemdoe, announced the opportunity in Dodoma on Saturday evening (April 11, 2026), saying the initiative is part of the initial preparations for the selection of students who will join Form Five and government colleges in 2026.
The minister noted that the window to change combinations or courses will remain open until 10th May this year, and advised students, parents and guardians to consult thoroughly, including seeking professional and academic advice, before making any changes.
“This opportunity enables students to adjust their choices in line with their performance in the Form Four National Examination results released by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA),” Prof Shemdoe said.
According to him, PMO-RALG has completed the initial exercise of uploading into the database all information from students’ Selection Forms as filled in while they were still in school.
“The completion of this exercise now provides an opportunity for students to make changes to their combinations and course selections online,” he told reporters in the capital.

After students make their adjustments, he explained, the database will be used to select and place them into Form Five streams and various courses in middle-level and technical colleges, based on their academic performance and choices.
Explaining how graduates can make adjustments, Prof Shemdoe said they should access the Student Selection Management Information System (Student Selection MIS).
“Guidelines on how to make the changes will be available on the system through a user manual and a YouTube video. To log into the system, a graduate will be required to use their Form Four examination number (2025), surname, year of birth, and a subject grade or any verification question provided by the system,” he said.
He emphasized that it is important for graduates to adhere to the given timeframe to allow the selection and placement process to proceed as scheduled.
Prof Shemdoe further advised that students, parents and guardians who require clarification should visit Regional and Council Education Offices.
