Dr Mwinyi commends the Zanzibar Law Society’s support in legal matters

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR President, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Zanzibar Law Society, commending its role in assisting citizens in legal matters.

The Isle’s President made the statement during a meeting with the leadership of the Zanzibar Law Society, led by its President, Advocate Joseph Magazi, who paid a courtesy visit at the State House in Zanzibar.

During the meeting, the President urged the association’s leadership to work on a sustainable solution to the challenges facing law students who are unable to continue with their studies, calling for long-term interventions to address the issue.

On the request for investment land, Dr Mwinyi advised the association to conduct a thorough assessment and proper planning before the government takes further action, in order to avoid delays in project implementation.

Additionally, he said that the pace of investment in the country is expected to increase compared to the previous administration, as the government continues to strengthen resource availability and improve the investment climate.

For his part, Zanzibar Law Society President Joseph Magazi praised Dr Mwinyi for his efforts in opening up Zanzibar and positioning it as a key investment hub for East and Central Africa.

In a related development, President Mwinyi handed over a vehicle to the association, fulfilling a request made during the recent Law Day celebrations to strengthen its operational capacity.
