TRA donates equipment worth 8m/- to Kabanga Special School
KIGOMA: THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in the Kigoma Region has donated various supplies worth 8 million/- to Kabanga Special Primary School, located in Kasulu District, Kigoma Region, as part of its efforts to give back to its taxpayers.
The donation, which included school supplies, food items, and mattresses, was handed over to the school’s management, which serves students with special needs, by the Assistant Manager for Taxpayer Services at TRA Kigoma Region, Kwizera Ntibakazi, on behalf of the Regional Manager, Beatus Nchota.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Kwizera said the support was part of the institution’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aimed at contributing to the improvement of community welfare, particularly for groups with special needs.
He noted that TRA continues to recognize the contribution of taxpayers by supporting government efforts in the education sector and overall social welfare.

On his part, the Head Teacher of Kabanga Special Primary School, Kulwa Godlucky, said the school has a total of 141 students with special needs and that although the government has continued to support the running of the school, there are still various challenges related to basic necessities.
He added that support from stakeholders such as TRA has played a significant role in addressing these challenges and improving the learning environment for the students.
Meanwhile, a Standard Six pupil at the school, Timotheo Mapengo, thanked TRA for the donation, saying it has helped ease challenges faced by many students whose parents are unable to afford some essential needs, making the support from stakeholders a great relief to them.
