EAC nations meet to identify the flagship infrastructure projects 

DODOMA: THE identification of flagship infrastructure projects from East African Community (EAC) member states peaked the community’s joint meeting convened virtually today, November 27, 2025, in Dodoma.

The Tanzanian government, a member,   participated in a meeting that involved the community’s Council of Ministers responsible for Transport, Communication and Meteorology; the Council of Ministers for Energy; and the Council of Ministers for Industry, Trade, Finance and Investment.

The meeting addressed various issues, including the identification of flagship infrastructure projects from EAC member states, as well as discussing and approving the agendas to be presented at the upcoming EAC Heads of State Retreat.

The Retreat will focus on discussing and endorsing strategic regional infrastructure projects that will be prioritized for resource mobilization and financing to support their implementation.

Representing Tanzania were Deputy Ministers from different sectors standing in for their respective Ministers. Among them were the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation responsible for East African Affairs, James Kinyasi Millya; Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Patrobas Katambi; Deputy Minister for Finance, Mshamu Munde; Deputy Minister for Energy, Salome Makamba; and the Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile, who led Tanzania’s delegation at the meeting.
