Samia orders speedy implementation of  all General Elections’ pledges

DODOMA: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu has instructed the newly sworn-in Prime Minister, Mwigulu Nchemba, to ensure there is a speedy implementation of all the promises made to the Tanzanian citizens during the General Elections.

Speaking shortly after administering oath to Dr Nchemba at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma, the President said that they have many promises to the Tanzanian citizens and time is not on their side, which calls for an increase of speed in their performances.

“You will be responsible for overseeing the cabinet, whose members also lead different sectors. It is your duty to ensure that the implementation of what we have planned is accelerated so that we can accomplish it within a short time,” President  Samia said.

Moreover, President Samia asked the new PM, who was once a Minister for Finance, to groom the one who will take over his shoes in the ministry for a shift implementation of projects.

“Carrying out all these tasks requires financial resources and you come from the finance sector. For the past five years, you have learned all the channels we have been using to secure funds. Therefore, you will supervise the person who will take your former position so that they can also follow the same paths to obtain funds and ensure the work gets done. In short, you have a very big responsibility,” the President said.

Additionally, the Head of State told Dr Nchemba that the office he is entering is a big office, with many responsibilities and temptations, he should be vigilant to serve the nation.

“This is not a small burden, and considering your age, it is a heavy responsibility. There will be many temptations from friends, relatives, family members, and others. That position has no relatives or friends. It is a position to serve the nation. I wish you all the best, and yesterday you proved to us that you can do it and that you will deliver,” she stated.

However, the President said that more instruction regarding what her government will do in the next five years she will talk about them elaboratively when opening the Parliament.
