Oryx gas empowers scouts with clean cooking energy

THE Oryx Gas Tanzania has announced its official sponsorship of the Tanzania Scouts Association, aligning with its mission to develop youth, protect the environment, and promote clean cooking energy usage nationwide.
As part of this initiative, Oryx Gas has donated 260 gas cylinders, both large and small, to the Scouts.
Speaking at the event today in Dodoma, Mr Alex Wambi, Sales Manager for Mainland Tanzania, emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step towards promoting clean energy usage and empowering youth.
“The company believes in the power of change driven by young people and recognizes the Scouts as future leaders, environmental protectors, and change agents,” Mr Wambi said.
He said the partnership is driven by a shared vision of empowering Scouts to use clean cooking solutions that promote safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
The partnership also aims to equip Scouts with the knowledge and skills to safely use LPG, understand its benefits, and become ambassadors for clean energy in their communities.
“This is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and public health,” Manager of Clean Energy Solutions Projects at Oryx Gas, Mr Peter Ndomba, noted.

Mr Ndomba highlighted that the initiative aligns with the company’s mission to expand clean cooking energy usage and promote efficient energy consumption among youth and communities.
The training will cover safe cooking practices, energy efficiency, and the benefits of clean cooking in combating climate change.
He stressed that the Oryx Gas believes in empowering future leaders by providing them with the knowledge and resources for sustainable living.
The company’s sponsorship of the Scouts is part of its broader commitment to promoting environmentally friendly practices and investing in Tanzania’s future.
