Accelerate electrification projects, contractors told

KOROGWE: ALL contractors awarded tenders under the Rural Energy Agency (REA) have been told to complete their projects on time and maintain high-quality standards to ensure rural communities fully benefit from electrification efforts.

The call was made on Sunday in Korogwe District by the Chairman of the Rural Energy Board (REB), Major General (Rtd) Ambassador Jacob Kingu, during a meeting with contractors implementing electrification projects in Tanga Region.

“I urge you to speed up your work, improve customer service and adopt innovative approaches, so that these connections can have a real and lasting impact.”

Amb Kingu noted that all 763 villages in Tanga Region have already been electrified through REA projects. Out of 4,531 hamlets, 2,382 have so far received electricity services, with connection efforts continuing at a rapid pace.
