Job Ndugai: Tanzanians mourn the sudden demise of former Speaker

DODOMA: THE former Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania and former Member of Parliament for Kongwa constituency, Job Yustino Ndugai, has passed away today, August 6, 202,5 in Dodoma.

An official statement released by the Communication and Public Education Unit of the Parliament Office confirmed the sad news, stating that the veteran leader died with great sorrow and leaves behind a significant gap in the leadership and political landscape of Tanzania.

In the statement, the current Speaker of Parliament and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Dr. Tulia Ackson, extended her condolences to the family, relatives, and citizens of Kongwa constituency.

“With deep sorrow, I regret to announce the death of our leader, veteran politician and Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Job Yustino Ndugai, who passed away today in Dodoma. I send heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, and the people of Kongwa. May God grant them strength and patience during this difficult time,” said Dr. Tulia.

The Parliament Office has further stated that funeral arrangements are currently being coordinated in collaboration with the Funeral Committee and the family of the late Ndugai. More information regarding the schedule of the ceremonies will be released as preparations progress.

The late Job Ndugai will be remembered for his significant contribution to the Tanzanian Parliament and his long-standing service to the nation as a senior leader in government and politics.
