TRA, TANAPA in joint bid to enhance the government’s revenue collection  

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), and Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) have agreed to establish a joint executive committee aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving government revenue collection.

The agreement was reached during a meeting chaired by TRA Commissioner General, Mr. Yusuph Mwenda, held at the TRA headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking during the meeting, Commissioner Mwenda said the primary objective is to strengthen collaboration among the institutions, particularly through the exchange of critical information that will support improved performance and increased revenue collections.

“The purpose of this meeting is to exchange experiences and discuss ways to improve tax collection through our respective institutions. All of us are government agencies, and our shared mission is to serve the government more efficiently,” said Commissioner Mwenda.

He further noted that the joint executive committee to be formed will facilitate smooth communication, address emerging challenges collectively, and ensure timely sharing of essential information.

On his part, NCAA Commissioner Mr. Abdul-razak Badru stated that the meeting marked a significant first step in fostering closer ties among the institutions—an initiative expected to boost efficiency and government revenue.

The meeting was also attended by TANAPA Commissioner Mr. Musa Kuji, TAWA Deputy Commissioner Mr. Thabit Mkwaya, as well as senior officials from the respective institutions.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment by the agencies to strengthen inter-agency coordination in order to increase revenue generation and enhance public service delivery.
