SADC nations okay Tanzania’s proposal for youth festival
GUTEN, SOUTH AFRICA; A proposal tabled by the Secretary-General of the CCM Youth Wing (UVCCM), Jokate Mwegelo, to establish a major youth festival for liberation movement parties in the region has been successfully responded to.
Ms Mwegelo proposed on behalf of the Tanzanian youth and other Southern African nations.
The proposed festival aims to bring together youth from Tanzania, South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Angola, and Namibia to engage in dialogue on development issues, share experiences, and explore economic opportunities among young people from countries with a shared history of liberation struggles.
Jokate made the proposals during a Special General Meeting of the Six Sister Liberation Movement Parties of Southern Africa, held in Guten, South Africa.

The proposal was officially endorsed by the meeting delegates and was described as a significant step towards empowering young people to carry forward the legacy of liberation and contribute to building a prosperous Africa.
The meeting was attended by the Presidents of the liberation countries and leaders of their respective parties, with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa serving as the host and chair of the gathering.
President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, was represented by former Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda, who actively participated in the discussions.
Through these proposals, UVCCM has demonstrated its strong commitment to ensuring that youth play a central role in driving positive change within their communities and across the African continent.
