26 Namibians studying Kiswahili online graduate

WINDHOEK: THE first graduation ceremony for 26 Namibian students who had been studying the Kiswahili language online at the beginner level for a period of 15 weeks was held and officially concluded at Triumphant College in Windhoek, Namibia.

The training program was sponsored by Triumphant College and conducted in collaboration with the National Kiswahili Council of Tanzania (BAKITA).

The initiative aimed to promote the learning of Kiswahili in Namibia and to enhance students’ understanding of the language, which continues to grow in prominence across Africa.

The guest of honor at the ceremony was Tanzania’s Ambassador to Namibia, Caesar Waitara, who commended the graduates for their commitment and encouraged them to continue with the next level of Kiswahili studies.

In his speech, Ambassador Waitara expressed his gratitude to the students for their dedication in completing the course and urged them to build on the skills they have acquired in order to expand opportunities for communication and cooperation between the two countries.

The graduation is expected to inspire renewed interest in advancing the use of Kiswahili in Namibia through online learning platforms and strengthened educational collaboration between institutions in Tanzania and Namibia.
