Zimbabwe cherishes Tanzania’s leadership base laid by Mwalimu Nyerere

DAR ES SALAAM: A diplomat from Zimbabwe, Dr Joshua Maponga, has praised Tanzania as a leading example of a country with a strong democracy in Africa, noting that the foundations were laid by the nation’s founding father, the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
Dr Maponga made the remarks today in Dar es Salaam while speaking to journalists. He said Mwalimu Nyerere was a visionary leader who foresaw the future of Tanzania and Africa as a whole, emphasizing that the challenges facing Africa are shared challenges, including those affecting Tanzania.
Furthermore, Dr Maponga highlighted that unity is a key driver of development. He explained that, just as the European Union functions as a unified body, Africa should also see itself as one. He stated that Tanzania is an asset to Africa, Zimbabwe is an asset to Africa, and Africa as a whole is one, stressing that young people have a responsibility to continue and protect the visions of the founders of their nations.
