Zanzibar eyes to have investment bank by 2025
ZANZIBAR: THE Zanzibar Deputy Minister of State- President’s Office (Finance and Planning) Mr Ali Suleiman Ameir has said the isles government plans to establish an investment bank in the near future, a move aims at supporting local investors.
Mr Ameir informed members of the House of Representatives that discussions involving some potential shareholders of the planned bank have been underway since the government came up with the proposal.
The deputy minister was responding to a question by Mr Bakar Hamad Bakar, Wawi Representative who wanted to know the government plans to support local investors.
“We are already moving steadily with hope to succeed in establishing the bank. The planned feasibility study will also show us how best we can move with the project. Our aim is to have the Investment Bank by 2025,” the deputy minister informed the House.
