Zanzibar Boys in Brazil for U-13 tourney

BRAZIL: ZANZIBAR’S young football stars have landed in Brazil, ready to fly the flag at the PQCUPBRASIL 2026 youth tournament.

The 18-player Zanzibar Spice Boys U-13 squad arrived early today at Belo Horizonte/Confins–Tancredo Neves International Airport ahead of the tournament, which runs from October 10-15 in Minas Gerais.

Led by delegation head Ambassador Abdulsamad Abdulrahim, the Spice Boys have been drawn in Group A alongside Clube Minas Gerais, Soccer Pro Betim, Polo Novo Horizonte Rio Vermelho, Vitinho Soccer Itabira and Portuguese side FC Porto.

The young Zanzibaris now face a major test against international opposition, with the tournament offering them valuable competitive experience.

But there is more at stake than football. The Spice Boys will also showcase Zanzibar’s talent, culture and tourism as they take their place on the international youth football stage.
