Young Africans open seven-point gap at summit

Young Africans opened a 7-point gap at the top of NBC Premier League table on Tuesday night, thanks to a 3-0 win over Coastal Union.

The two sides finished their business at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday evening with the defending champions bagging maximum points.

Fiston Mayele scored a brace while Feisal Salum contributed one goal to enable their side emerge victorious as they intensify championship race.

Mayele has extended his golden boot chase with 13 goals to his name while his closest pursuer Moses Phiri (Simba) has 10 goals.

For Coastal Union, the going is turf after succumbing to a second successive away defeat.

It was the first game for them to endure without Head Coach Yusuf Chipo who was sacked on Tuesday morning.

They have 15 points from 17 matches and the water levels continue to rise for the Tanga based giants.
