Young Africans beat Monastir to qualify for CAFCC quarterfinals

Young Africans have cleared their path into the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals following a deserved 2-0 triumph over US Monastir.

Monastir’s unbeaten status in the competition has hit the rock at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday night.

Kennedy Musonda and Fiston Mayele netted in each half to propel their team to the last-eight, thanks to their third consecutive home victory.

Also, the success has seen Yanga leading their group F on goal difference after equaling with Monastir with 10 points apiece.

Up next, the Jangwani based club travel to DR Congo to play TP Mazembe in their last assignment of group stage mission on April 2nd.

In another match, Real Bamako have emerged 2-1 winners against TP Mazembe in a match played in Mali.

Bamako are now third on the log with 5 points while Mazembe are rooted at the base with 3 points and the duo have missed out a chance to venture into this years confederation cup quarters.
