Yas expands digital services in Kahama

KAHAMA: Yas Tanzania has expanded its retail and customer-service network in Kahama as growing economic activity in mining, agriculture and trade drives demand for reliable mobile, internet and digital financial services.

The move follows the company’s continued expansion of its retail network and investment in digital infrastructure and services aimed at bringing mobile connectivity, customer support and financial services closer to communities and businesses across the country.

The new Yas shop gives residents and businesses access to assistance with mobile lines, internet services, devices and financial transactions through Mixx.

Speaking at the opening, Kahama Municipal Mayor Mataluma Kaniki said the investment comes at a time when economic activity in the municipality is expanding, particularly in mining, agriculture and trade.

He said such investments could generate wider economic benefits through employment, support for nearby businesses and increased economic activity.

“When we attract investments like this, the benefits go beyond the services offered. They also create jobs, support nearby businesses and contribute to our municipality’s economy,” he said.

Yas Tanzania Director of Customer Experience and Operations Ms Mwangaza Matotola said the shop was established to make the company’s services and customer support more accessible to customers in Kahama.

She said the new outlet is part of a network of more than 557 Yas shops across the country.

Matotola said Yas has invested more than 1.2tri/- in infrastructure and services nationwide.

The company operates more than 4,900 towers supporting 4G and 5G services and serves more than 33.2 million customers across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, she added.
