Yas enhances registration and overall experience for 2026 Kili Marathon participation

KILIMANJARO: For more than a decade, the Kilimanjaro Marathon has evolved into more than just a race. It has become a cultural gathering that brings together runners from across Tanzania and beyond, celebrating unity, determination, and national pride.
Throughout the journey, Yas has remained one of its most reliable partners, working behind the scenes to simplify the experience for thousands of participants. As the 2026 edition approaches, the company is once again sharpening its focus on making registration easier and improving the overall race experience.
This year, Yas has refined the registration system to make it quicker and more accessible. Participants can now secure their slot in minutes through a simple mobile process by dialling *150*01# and following a short series of prompts. Mixx also has agents across the country to assist with in-person registration-a move that reflects the company’s continued commitment to inclusivity.

The improvements don’t stop at sign-ups, runners taking part in the Yas 21km Half Marathon can expect an enriched experience before the race, during and after. Along the route, rest points will provide water, glucose for energy and first-aid support. Clearer route markers and strengthened safety measures will help keep the event well-coordinated, while additional motivation comes in the form of branded merchandise.
Participants can expect more entertainment fun and engagement planned this year. Supported by the company’s widespread 4G and 5G network, participants will also enjoy real-time updates, instant results and easy access to route information-continuing the company’s push to use technology to enhance the marathon experience.
This year’s event , which will take place on Sunday 22 March, also marks more than 10 years of Yas sponsoring the 21km Half Marathon, a partnership that has contributed significantly to the development of sports and wellness culture in Tanzania. Since 2015, the company has introduced solutions ranging from digital registration and mobile payments to special data packages and live race tracking – initiatives that have made the marathon more exciting and accessible for both runners and spectators.
Reflecting on the milestone, Yas Corporate Communications & PR Manager Christina Murimi said the company’s mission goes beyond visibility.
“We are immensely proud of our long-standing partnership with the Kili Marathon. Our goal has always been to inspire a culture of fitness, perseverance and community spirit. We remain committed to empowering athletes and enthusiasts through technology and meaningful experiences on and off the track.”
Beyond race-day support, Yas contributes to environmental conservation through efforts such as the “Yas Go Green for Kili” initiative, which supports preservation work around Mount Kilimanjaro.
As preparations continue, Yas is encouraging runners to register early and get ready for what promises to be one of the most engaging editions of the marathon yet.
