YOUNG Africans have said they will not play any friendly matches with foreign teams during this international break.
While Yanga opted not to have any friendly game with a foreign team, their traditional rivals Simba were in Sudan where they played against Asante Kotoko and El Hillal in international friendlies.
They beat the Ghanaian giants 4-2 before losing 1-0 to El Hilal.
The team’s Director of Competition, Saad Kawembwa revealed this in Dar es Salaam that they will not play trial match with a foreign team and that is per Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s directives.
Adding, he said the team’s head coach opted not to have any friendly match, instead, he insisted on the team’s fitness drill at Avic Town where the team trains.
Kawemba, the former Tanzania Football Federation International Matching System (TMS) Director, said every time they read their coach’s notebook to understand what he wants for the team and as club’s administration abide to his guidelines.
Currently Yanga are seriously training for the third round of the NBC Premier League match against Azam at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on September 6th this year and four days later on September 10th they will face Zalan of South Sudan in their first leg match of CAF Champions League at the same venue.
