Yanga silence Tabora Utd with 3-0 drub

TABORA: DEFENDING Champions, Young Africans have dealt a blow to Tabora United following their away 3-0 victory at Ally Hassan Mwinyi Stadium this evening.

It was a sweet revenge for Young Africans as they lost 3-1 to Tabora United in their first round game at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in November last year.

Goals from Israel Patrick Mwenda, Clement Mzize, and Prince Dube earned the visitors maximum points.

Yanga continue to command the pilot seat with 61 points, 4 points ahead of their closest challengers, Simba, who are still glued to the second position with 57 points, but with a game in hand.

Tabara United, who looked determined to win again, started brightly and managed to thwart all raids directed at their goal.

No more goal was added until the end of the first half.

The visitors were unstoppable in the second half, which saw them score two more goals.

Just 18 minutes after resumption, Clement Mzize scored his team’s second goal in the 63rd minute after a brilliant finish.

Seven minutes later, Prince Dube sealed the goal account by scoring his team’s third goal in the 70th minute.

Tabora United have remained in fifth place with 37 points despite the heavy loss.
