Yanga see hope after TP Mazembe draw

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Head Coach Sead Ramovic is optimistic about the team’s chances of reaching the quarter-finals in the CAF Champions League after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against TP Mazembe at Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A last-minute equaliser by striker Prince Dube salvaged a crucial point for Yanga in the intense encounter.
The Congolese side had taken the lead through Cheikh Fofana’s 41st-minute strike, leaving Yanga chasing the game.
Speaking after the match, Ramovic admitted his frustration at dropping two points but commended his team’s resilience.
“I feel bad about losing two points. From the first minute to the last, we dominated the game. I am happy with how we played, but I am not satisfied with the result,” said Ramovic.
Despite the draw, the German tactician is confident that Yanga can still advance to the next stage, with three matches remaining in the group phase.
“We still have a chance to progress as we have three games left,” he added.
Yanga currently sit at the bottom of Group B with just one point after losing their first two matches and drawing against Mazembe.
Group leaders Al Hilal have nine points, followed by MC Alger with four points, while Mazembe are third with two points.
