YOUNG Africans have reiterated that they have quality squad capable to compete well with any team in both domestic and international fixtures.
The club’s newly paraded Media Officer Ally Kamwe made the remarks yesterday as they prepare to face Al Hilal in the second preliminary round first leg match of CAF Champions League on October 8th at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Thereafter, the duo will head for the second leg encounter on October 16th at Al Hilal Stadium in Sudan with the overall winner cruising into the group stage of the champions league.
“I think time is here to do balanced reporting. When you talk about how good Al Hilal are, you should also speak about the qualities that Yanga have. People are talking about Al Hilal players as if their capabilities are invincible,” he said.
Also, Kamwe seized the platform to encourage more Yanga fans to descend at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in big number to rally behind their team during the champions league first leg clash.
“We want to show the world how best our supporters can cheer their team because currently, we have high vibe fans who are ready to offer full backing to the players on the battlefield,” he said.
Furthermore, Kamwe disclosed that together with his media team, they will try their level best to build a good image of the club saying gone are the days when people used such platforms to hurt others.
However, before facing the Sudan giants, Yanga have an NBC Premier League game versus Ruvu Shooting on Monday which will help to give them required rhythm before the champions league duel.
So far, the defending champions are on top of the table with 10 points after four games as they have managed to win three matches and recorded one draw against Azam.
A win on the day will take them to 13 points and continue their unbeaten form of the season extending it to five encounters as they aim to defend the league title for the second time in a row.
