Yanga keen to clear Singida Stars hurdle

YOUNG Africans Assistant Coach Cedric Kaze said they are ready for the Premier League match against Singida Big Stars who host them at Liti Stadium in Singida today.
The two teams play their 27th round of the top flight league as the three games will remain before the season hits its climax.
After today’s game, the two teams will meet again at the same venue in the semifinal match of Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) to who deserves a place in ASFC final.
In their first round Premier League game at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Yanga claimed a voluminous 4-1 win to bag maximum points.
In a pre-match briefing yesterday, Kaze insisted that they are going to fully focus on the game for so as to claim maximum points that will keep them closer to the season’s championship.
“We know the match will be tough because our opponents have a good team with quality players, but we are here aiming for nothing less other than maximum points,” he said.
Adding, he said since there are only three matches to go before the end of the season, good results to be generated from the clashes are vital in their quest to defend the league title.
“We have strong determination to perform well in all the remaining matches of the league so that we can accumulate the required points for our title-defence campaign. We are keen to defend our title for the second time,” he said.
On his part, Singida Big Stars Assistant Coach Mathias Lulle also declared his charges are fit for the match basing on the training programmes they have had, he is confident they will do well at home.
“Of course, we are playing against key title contender but that does not make us inferior to them, we are going to battle throughout the 90 minutes of play,” he said.
He also elaborated that they have an advantage of playing at home turf where he said they have been registering good results most often.
If Singida Big Stars win today,they will overtake Azam at the third place of the log as they will have 54 points from 27 matches while Azam will remain with 53 points after 27- game outings.
