Yanga fortify helm vs Polisi TZ

HOLDERS Young Africans have a chance to extend their lead at the summit of the table if they beat Polisi Tanzania at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.
In their first meeting at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, Yanga emerged 2-1 victors, hence it is now an opportunity for the Polisi team to avenge the loss and claim maximum three points.
The other interesting part of the game aside is that the newly appointed Polisi Tanzania Head Coach, Mwinyi Zahera for the first time, tests his former employer in the Premier League.
People are anxious to see how he is going to perform against a team he thoroughly knows, but he has a big task to drive the Moshi- based side out of the relegation danger as they currently sit at the bottom of the table with 9 points from 15 matches.
“Yanga have 80 percent advantage to win the game while we (Polisi Tanzania) have 20 percent…that is the fact. Even if you can bet, all of you will give Yanga a winning chance but in football, anything can happen,” said Zahera on Friday
The first round was a mess for Polisi Tanzania after managing only two wins, three draws and succumbing to ten defeats as such, they need to turn the corner in the second round and win as many games as possible to increase their chances of remaining in the league next term.
Elsewhere today, Tanzania Prisons host Singida Big Stars at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya in an early kickoff with each side keen to walk away head up.
The hosts, who lately cherish 15 points from 15 matches equivalent to one point in each game, are aware that their trend is not convincing hence they have to put on serious face aiming to get victories in their matches.
In their past game, they suffered a 1-0 loss to Yanga at Benjamin Mkapa venue and are looking forward to react positively by capsizing the Singida region giants who are making maiden appearance in the league.
Singida Big Stars remain firm on the fourth place of the table with 27 points from 15 games and have already established themselves as one of the tough teams in the league and are among the active title contenders this season.
Tomorrow, the final two fixtures to conclude the 16th round will be staged at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza where Geita Gold host Simba at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza for another glittering match of the campaign.
Also, Mbeya City welcome Dodoma Jiji at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
