THE epic encounter between Young Africans and Azam is the top order of today as NBC Premier League resumes today with four teams engaged.
The pair of fixtures is set to light up two leagues’s hosting venues.
The defending champions Young Africans face their real major test of the season as they entertain Azam at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam in the evening.
Both sides are yet to concede a defeat after stamping success in their two league openers and are searching to maintain that record.
For Yanga, it is their first game at home after being engaged in two away matches; defeating Polisi Tanzania 2-1 before seeing off Coastal Union with 2-0 win, both encounters held at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Likewise, Azam who have gone in record books for becoming the first team this season to sack Head Coach Abdihamid Moallin, are playing their first away match after beating Kagera Sugar and being held to a 1-1 draw by Geita Gold.
However, an early kickoff game will be staged at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza where Geita Gold will host Kagera Sugar in another hot encounter as both sides are eager to collect maximum points.
None of them has registered a win this season, with the hosts currently occupying the 13th slot on the ladder with one point whereas Kagera Sugar are bottom-placed without a point.
The action continues tomorrow with two venues to be on fire. Mtibwa Sugar host Ihefu at Manungu Complex in Morogoro with the visitors looking for their first victory in the league.
Until now, the Mbarali based outfits are the only team yet to shake the opponents’ net after failing to do so in their opening two matches.
Also, former champions, Simba will be seeking to maintain their 100 per cent start of the campaign as they play KMC at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the city.
The Msimbazi Street Reds enjoy the top slot on the table with six points and have not conceded a goal while at the same time leading the scoring chart with five goals and can stretch it further if they manage to score.
The Kinondoni giants have begun the marathon on low pace after losing one match and drawing the other.
