DODOMA: YOUNG Africans and Dodoma Jiji are set for an exciting Mainland Premier League showdown today at Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma.
Both teams are preparing for a fiercely contested match, with coaches from both sides anticipating a high- stakes encounter.
Yanga’s Head coach, Sead Ramovic, acknowl- edged the challenges ahead, particularly the pitch con- ditions and the strength of Dodoma’s squad.
Despite these obstacles, he remains confident in his team’s ability to secure three vital points.
“We know our match against Dodoma will be tough. They have a solid team with quality players, just like we do. Our focus is on securing the points to stay on track in the league,” Ramovic stated.
Although the condition of the pitch is a concern, Ramovic is determined to lead his team to victory.
“The pitch may not be in the best shape, but that won’t stop us from playing our game. We’re well-prepared and our aim is to win,” he explained.
Ramovic also spoke about squad rotation, emphasising the depth of his team.
“I have a strong squad of 23 quality players and every player deserves a chance to play to maintain their match fitness.
As a coach, I will en- sure that everyone gets time on the pitch,” he said. On the other side, Dodoma Jiji’s Head coach,
Mecky Mexime, expressed his re- spect for Yanga but is confident his team is ready for the challenge.
“Yanga is one of the best teams in the league, so we know it will be a tough match. But we are fully prepared and will play our best without making mistakes.
We’ll also ensure our play- ers are in top physical condi- tion,” Mexime said.
Mexime also called on Dodoma fans to show up in large numbers to support their team, explaining that the crowd’s backing would provide a significant morale boost to the players.
Currently in second place with 33 points from 13 matches, Yanga are determined to continue their strong form and push for the top spot in the league.
Meanwhile, Dodoma Jiji, sitting in 11th place with just 16 points, is eager to bounce back after a recent defeat to Singida Black Stars and return to winning ways.
