Yanga beat Mtibwa Sugar with a 1 – 0 win

YOUNG Africans have re-opened a 6-point gap at the summit of the Premier League table thanks to a 1-0 victory against Mtibwa Sugar.

Stephanie Aziz Ki has netted the solitary goal at Manungu Complex in Morogoro on Saturday afternoon to keep chasing the championship.

He scores via a free-kick in the 26th minute, his fourth goal of the campaign and a perfect New Year present to their fans.

Yanga have now maximised 50 points from 19 matches as they comfortably sit at the top of the log smiling to a six point lead.

For Mtibwa Sugar, it was a bad day at office as they succumb to a shocking home defeat, a venue they usually utilise well by picking maximum points.

They remain with 24 points from 19 outings and the nosedive has seen them stepping into 2023 with heads down.
