DAR ES SALAAM: YANGA and Azam FC have secured tickets for the Community Shield final after winning in their semi-final matches in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar yesterday.
At Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Yanga edged past Simba with a narrow 1-0 victory, while Azam FC cruised to a 5-2 triumph over Coastal Union at New Amaan Complex.
The stage is now set for an exciting final between Azam and Yanga, with all eyes on the highly anticipated clash at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Yanga’s tactical triumph In a captivating tactical duel, Simba and Yanga showcased high-intensity football.
Simba adopted a defensive strategy combined with high pressing, whereas Yanga employed a slick, onetouch passing game to challenge Simba’s defence.

Yanga’s persistence paid off just before halftime.
Maxi Nzengeli scored the decisive goal, thanks to an assist from Prince Dube. Earlier, Dube had nearly broken the deadlock in the third minute, but his shot hit the woodwork after a sharp pass from Pacome.
Simba fought back with determina tion, creating several scoring opportunities.
Their closest chance came in the 62nd minute when Steven Mukwala’s powerful shot was expertly saved by Djigui Diarra. Simba earned a corner but failed to convert, allowing Yanga to hold on and secure their place in the final.
Azam FC’s goal-fest The first semi-final saw a goal-laden spectacle as Azam FC and Coastal
Union combined for seven goals in a thrilling encounter. Azam FC dominated, scoring five goals to Coastal Union’s two.
The match kicked off with an early goal from Azam’s Gibril Sillah, who struck a glass cutter strike in the 13th minute after a steal by Feisal Salum.
Coastal Union equalised with a header from Charles Semfuko in the 27th minute, but Azam responded with two quick goals just before halftime, courtesy of Feisal Salum and Jhonier Blanko.
The first half ended with Azam leading 3-1.
The second half saw more action, with Coastal Union’s Abdullah Hassan scoring in the 85th minute, but Azam sealed their win with late goals from Adam Adam and Ever Meza in the 87th and 90th minutes, respectively.
Azam FC’s 5-2 victory ensures they advance to the Community Shield final, where they will face Yanga in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the competition.
