President Samia commended Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, General Secretary of MWL, for his leadership in advancing global Islamic unity and community service.

Emphasising the importance of religious education, President Samia urged families to ensure children—particularly girls—are raised with strong moral foundations.

“When you educate a girl properly in the principles of faith, you prepare a future woman or mother who will uphold those values,” she stated.

She added, “A community that nurtures its women well is destined for greatness.” However, she stressed that the focus should not be solely on girls.

“We must also remember the boy child. The responsibility is to raise all children based on the values taught by our religions,” she noted.

President Samia called on religious institutions to devise new strategies for engaging parents and children to uphold strong family values within Tanzanian society.

“This is a timely opportunity for religious institutions to innovate in providing   faith-based   education, ensuring our community remains anchored in its values,” she said.

The President also praised MWL’s ongoing support for Tanzania, mentioning their contribution to building a hospital in Tandika-Magogoni and announcing plans for a larger facility dedicated to maternal and child health care. Mufti of Tanzania, Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir, urged Islamic believers to use the Qur’an as a foundation for instilling good values and building a better society that pleases Al lah and benefits the community.

“The Qur’an teaches good morals. We emphasize that as we leave here, we should have learned good ethics,” Mufti Zubeir said. He also lauded President Samia’s leadership, describing it as characterised by justice, fairness and love, which he noted played a role in Tanzania being selected to host the global Quran competition for women.

“It is because of President Samia’s leadership that Tanzania was chosen to host this prestigious event,” Mufti Zubeir remarked.
